Education

I attended Augustana College from 2008 to 2012, and graduated with a 3.75 GPA, achieving a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish Language. I then studied to become certified in ESL and Bilingual teaching through Illinois State University. Currently, I am fully certified to teach all elementary grades and subjects in a self-contained classroom, and I am specialized in Spanish and Social Studies.

Experience

I have been tutoring and working with students for over 8 years now, beginning with part-time tutoring while I was in college. I have now been teaching full time for 4 years in the elementary grades. I have experience working with students aged 4-16 on subjects ranging from reading/writing to math and foreign language and even ACT prep. In high school, I achieved a composite score of 32 on the ACT, and I have recently started tutoring high school students who are preparing to take the ACT. My teaching style is adaptive to all students' individual needs. I love learning about each student's learning style and tailoring my teaching to fit each unique student. Hobbies

When I am not teaching, I like to keep busy with hobbies, including sewing, needlework, board games and tabletop games, cooking, and singing. I am a big movie buff and love Harry Potter, Star Trek, and other nerdy stuff like that. To stay active, I love running, doing yoga, and playing roller derby!
